Hi. In a past blog you wrote about the maiden trip of the Dixie Clipper, June 28, 1939. In your article you mention passenger William Donovan being gifted a silver cigarette case to commemorate the first passenger transatlantic flight. Do you know anything about these cigarettes cases? Have you ever heard anything about the cases that were given to the flight’s crew members? I am trying to find information out about these cases, specifically the cases gifted to the crew members of the flight i.e. the stewards. Thank you
Alvis,
Have you tried contacting the Cradle of Aviation Museum here on Long Island. I think they had on a table set for dinner with the old Pan American logo. I am pretty sure it was a Ronzon.
There is also a Pan American historical association.
